Nikolai Ehlers Ehlers, Ehlers & Partner Widenmayerstrasse 29 80538 Munich Germany Tel: (49) 89 2109 690 Fax: (49) 89 2109 6999 n.ehlers@eep-law.de www.eep-law.de Dr. P.Nikolai Ehlers, the partner in charge of the aviation practice of Ehlers, Ehlers & Partner (Munich/Germany), is qualified as a lawyer both in Germany and in New York. Mr. Ehlers has extensive experience of advising and representing airlines and their insurers in liability matters and conducting complex litigation involving international parties. He regularly advises on aircraft and engine finance and lease transactions, regulatory issues, airport access, competition matters, alliances and codesharing, insolvency proceedings, tour operator liability regulation, CRS matters, maintenance contracts, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Mr. Ehlers holds degrees from the Cologne and the McGill Institutes of Air and Space Law. He is an officer of the European Air Law Association, a member of the advisory boards of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce (SMU-Dallas) and of the journal Air and Space Law (Kluwer) and holds offices in other professional organizations. For many years he has organized the biennial Munich Liability Seminar of the European Air Law Association. Prof. Wolf Müller-Rostin Wolf Müller-Rostin joined Lufthansa German Airlines as in-house counsel in September 1977 and was Director of the Legal Department of Delvag Luftfahrtversicherungs-AG (aviation insurance), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa, from 1981 to 2007. He retired from Delvag/Lufthansa on 28 February 2007 and now works as an independent lawyer, consultant and lecturer. He is also of counsel to the law firm Ehlers, Ehlers & Partners. Wolf teaches insurance, aviation and transport law at several German and Austrian universities. He is speaker of the Deutsches Luftrechtsforum (a group of German and Swiss aviation lawyers) and a member of the executive board of the German Association for Transport Law. Wolf is also a co-author of commentaries on the Warsaw Convention, the Montreal Convention and German transport law and has written numerous articles on product liability and aviation law. Stephanie Rostren Stephanie Rostren is Senior Legal Counsel, head of Product litigation for the Eurocopter Group, a global leader in helicopter market with no less than 10.000 helicopters operating worldwide in all commercial and military segments. Eurocopter is accordingly fully committed to flight safety. Stephanie is sharing her professional time between France and Germany and takes care of all claims related to potential manufacturer’s liability. Prior to joining Eurocopter to head her litigation activities in 2006, Stephanie spent 8 years in French private practice as an attorney and in the EADS Defence Division. Her activities included negotiation and handling of international contracts, joint venture agreements and insurance related issues. She has a law degree of the University of Toulouse and studied one year at the Queen’s University of Belfast. Living now in Munich, she enjoys discovering and integrating this new culture. Eugene J.J.M. Hoeven Eugene J.J.M. Hoeven is Director ICAO Affairs with the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), where he is responsible for representing the views of the world’s air navigation services providers (ANSPs) at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialized UN agency and global forum that establishes the regulatory framework for international civil aviation. Prior to joining CANSO, Eugene served as Director, Risk Management and Insurance at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), with responsibilities for both corporate and industry risk management and insurance activities. Prior to this, he was Assistant Director, User Charges for the Americas & ICAO, representing the airline industry on airport and air navigation services economics and charges-related issues. At that time, Eugene led IATA participation at numerous ICAO conferences and meetings on air transport infrastructure economics, and served as a member of the ICAO ANS Economics Panel and the Airport Economics Panel, and as alternate observer to the Air Transport Committee of the ICAO Council. He also represented the air transport industry during the privatization of the Canadian air navigation service and the establishment of a fees & charges regime under NAV CANADA. Before joining IATA, Eugene was with Bombardier Regional Aircraft Division (Toronto) with responsibility for marketing the Dash-8 and CRJ aircraft. He also served a brief tenure as a consultant with Schiphol Management Services (Amsterdam) on airport strategic planning and development. Eugene started his aviation career with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines where he held a number of financial management positions, concluding as Manager, Airport Services Support & Regulatory Affairs, responsible for supporting the airline operation at all Canada stations on airport facilities issues, passenger facilitation and regulatory compliance, and aircraft handling contracts management and negotiations. Eugene holds a bachelor degree in Economics from McGill University, a business degree from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Montreal.
